Binance has launched Binance x402, enabling software applications and AI agents to pay for digital services programmatically through off-chain authorization and on-chain settlement.

Crypto Exchange Binance Unveils Binance x402

Binance, the leading cryptocurrency exchange by daily trading volume, announced on Tuesday, May 19th, that it has launched Binance x402, a Binance Pay payment facilitator for programmable payments on BNB Chain.

In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, Binance said the Binance x402 allows software applications and AI agents to pay for digital services programmatically through off-chain authorization and on-chain settlement.

Binance x402 to Serve HTTP-Native Programmable Payments on BNB Chain

Binance stated that this feature will cater to the growing category of internet services that need machine-friendly payments.

As software and AI agents take on more tasks, they increasingly need a practical way to pay for the APIs, tools, datasets, and services they use.
The crypto exchange noted that traditional checkout flows are often poorly suited to these interactions, especially when payments need to happen programmatically or on a per-use basis.

With Binance x402, these issues are addressed. This feature achieves this by combining:

  • HTTP-based payment requests

  • Self-custody wallet authorization

  • On-chain stablecoin settlement on BNB Chain

Binance added that for developers and merchants, this feature reduces the need to build custom payment infrastructure such as authorization verification, settlement handling, and chain-specific gas logic.

For users, it enables agent-driven payments while keeping private keys on their own devices.

While commenting on this launch, Thomas Gregory, VP of Payments and Fiat at Binance, stated that,

“AI agents and automated software workflows need a payment model that fits how modern internet services are consumed. Binance x402 gives developers a standard way to monetize digital services on BNB Chain through HTTP-native payment flows, while allowing users to authorize payments through their own wallets and stay in control.”

Binance to Support Stablecoin Payments Flows on BNB Chain

At launch, Binance x402 supports stablecoin payment flows on BNB Chain through multiple authorization methods, helping expand the utility of on-chain payments for digital services and machine-driven commerce.

Binance x402 will support various payment methods, including eip3009, permit2-exact, and permit2-upto. Supported stablecoins on BNB Chain include U, USDT, USD1, and USDC.

Binance x402 launches with Trust Wallet integration to support self-custody agent payment flows on BNB Chain. Through Trust Wallet AgentKit, users can authorize payments for agents without moving keys off-device, enabling agent-driven access to paid services while maintaining wallet control.

Finally, Binance x402 will also be supporting Binance Wallet’s Agentic Wallet, with integration currently in development.

The feature will expand over time, widening access to programmable payments on BNB Chain through additional wallet interfaces.

The launch comes as demand grows for infrastructure that can support machine-driven commerce, with AI adoption accelerating across consumer and enterprise services. Binance x402 marks another step in Binance’s efforts to support practical blockchain-based payment infrastructure for the next generation of internet services.

This latest development comes a week after Binance expanded access to Binance Institutional Loan, making the product available to all KYB-verified VIP clients.
