Binance Counters Data Leak Accusations
In a February 4 blog update, Hudson Rock, a cybercrime solutions provider, reports a hacker offering law enforcement account access for $5,000 on BreachForums. The perpetrator claims the ability to make EDRs for various services, exploiting credentials from Infostealer Infections. "otteroooo" alleges Binance KYC data sale on the dark web, linked to the GitHub leak. Binance assures rigorous documentation processes and constant monitoring for compromised accounts.
Binance's Credentials Reportedly Compromised
In December 2023, Hudson Rock reported a hacker attempting to sell access to Binance's law enforcement portal through KodexGlobal. Allegedly linked to global malware campaigns, compromised credentials showed access to Binance's login panel from law enforcement officers in Taiwan, Uganda, and the Philippines. While Binance acknowledged awareness, no system breaches were confirmed. In November, a hacker stole $27 million in Tether from a Binance-associated wallet, converting it to Ether and routing it through exchanges.
