Polygon Open Money Stack adds TRON support, connecting USDT with regulated fiat ramps, programmable wallets, cross-chain transfers, and banking rails.

Polygon Links $94B TRON USDT Market to US Banking Rails

TL;DR

  • Polygon Open Money Stack now supports TRON, connecting its USDT ecosystem with fiat access, wallets, and cross-chain payment infrastructure.

  • TRON hosts more than $94 billion in circulating USDT and has recorded over $30 trillion in total transfer volume, according to the announcement.

  • Businesses can integrate dollar funding, programmable accounts, blockchain settlement, and supported payouts through a single connection.

  • The rollout is the first phase of TRON support, with additional assets, markets, and payment capabilities planned.

Polygon Labs has added TRON support to Polygon Open Money Stack, expanding its payment infrastructure to connect banking rails with the largest network for TRC-20 USDT.

The integration targets fintech companies, remittance providers, marketplaces, and payment platforms serving customers across TRON and Ethereum-compatible networks.

According to Polygon Labs, businesses can now access fiat ramps, wallet infrastructure, and cross-chain routing through one integration, reducing the need to assemble those services from separate providers.

TRON Integration Connects a Major USDT Payments Ecosystem

TRON supports more than $94 billion in circulating USDT and over $30 trillion in total transfer volume, according to figures provided in the announcement.

The network is widely used for digital-dollar transfers, including retail payments, savings, and cross-border remittances.

Polygon Labs said businesses serving that ecosystem have traditionally needed to coordinate licensing, banking relationships, wallet providers, and routing infrastructure independently.

Open Money Stack combines those components into a shared infrastructure layer. Its TRON expansion allows companies operating across TRON and supported Ethereum Virtual Machine networks to manage payment workflows through the same integration.

Polygon also reported that its network had processed more than $3 trillion in payment volume as of September 21.

The stack allows dollars to enter through regulated on-ramps using bank transfers, debit cards, or cash at retail locations.

Funds can move into virtual accounts holding real balances before settling onchain under rules set by the business. The integration can also route funds between supported blockchains and facilitate payouts through available payment rails.

Polygon Ramps connects TRON-based products to fiat on- and off-ramps supported by money-transmitter licenses and compliance infrastructure across 48 U.S. states.

Businesses can also create and manage TRON wallets through the same integration used for other supported networks. That reduces the need for a separate wallet provider or different customer interfaces for each blockchain.

Cross-Chain Routing Links TRON With EVM Networks

The expansion enables businesses to route USDT between TRON and supported EVM networks, including Polygon Chain, through a single transaction flow.

According to Polygon Labs, the underlying infrastructure handles bridging, conversion, and execution.

CEO Marc Boiron said adding TRON brings a substantial pool of USDT liquidity into Open Money Stack, allowing businesses to connect those funds with U.S. banking rails or move them across chains.

TRON founder Justin Sun said the integration supports the growing use of stablecoins in payments, remittances, and treasury management by connecting onchain liquidity with traditional financial infrastructure.

For a remittance provider, the integration could allow a customer to fund a transfer in dollars and deliver USDT to a recipient’s TRON wallet.

The reverse workflow could let users transfer USDT from TRON and cash out through a supported bank account.

A marketplace could accept TRON-based USDT, hold funds in a programmable account, and settle with a seller through an EVM network or banking rail.

These workflows are intended to let businesses serve customers across ecosystems without requiring everyone to use the same blockchain. Availability will depend on the supported markets and payment capabilities.

Further TRON Support Planned After Initial Rollout

Polygon Labs began assembling Open Money Stack through its acquisition of Sequence and its pending acquisition of Coinme.

The strategy combines enterprise wallet infrastructure, licensed U.S. fiat access, and cross-chain orchestration to connect the networks and payment rails customers already use.

Polygon Labs described the current integration as the first phase of TRON support. Additional assets, markets, and payment capabilities are expected over time, although the announcement did not specify a timetable.
