Crypto Dao Review
A trading cryptocurrency guide must provide reviews of all of the top crypto exchanges out there, so that you can find the best cryptocurrency exchange site for you. This review of Crypto Dao consists of four parts: general information, fees, deposit methods and security.
UPDATE 1 March 2020: This exchange seems to have closed down. We have not been able to access the website of this exchange for quite some time. Accordingly, we have marked it as "dead" and moved it to our Exchange Graveyard. We will monitor the situation and "revive" it should it become operational again.
Crypto Dao is a cryptocurrency exchange from the United Kingdom. United Kingdom is the country which without a doubt has the most cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. At least that we know of. A non-exhaustive list of exchanges from the UK (in addition to this one) includes Exmo, CEX.io, CoinEgg, Livecoin, DSX, LocalTrade, Bittylicious (funny name by the way), CoinMate, Indacoin, MixCoins, Paybis, Vaultoro, Instant Bitex and eToro.
Crypto Dao does not list US-investors as prohibited from trading, but US-investors should do their own independent assessment of any problems arising from their residency or citizenship. They may be limited or affected by their own state laws even if the exchange they are trading at does not prohibit them from trading there.
Crypto Dao Trading View
Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. Before you choose an exchange, try to have a look at the trading view so that you can ascertain that it feels right to you. In spite of a lot of attempts, we have not been able to acquire a view of the trading interface at Crypto Dao as we have not been able to access the exchange’s website. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Crypto Dao Fees
Crypto Dao Trading fees
This UK-crypto exchange doesn’t charge different fees between takers and makers. Their fee model is instead something called a “flat fee model”. The exchange offers a flat trading fee of 0.15%. For investors who prefer to pick-up existing orders from the order book, this might be an attractive trading fee model.
0.15% is slightly below the industry average. The industry average is arguably around 0.25%.
Crypto Dao Withdrawal fees
The exchange also charges a withdrawal fee amounting to 0.0005 BTC when you withdraw BTC. This fee is below the industry average and constitutes a competitive advantage against the majority of other top crypto exchanges in the market.
Crypto Dao offers wire transfer as a deposit method. However, it does not offer credit card as a deposit method. So if that’s a requirement from you, you’ll have to find another trading platform.
Crypto Dao Security
Crypto Dao’s security score is F, when performing the test at Observatory by Mozilla (https://observatory.mozilla.org/). This is below industry average when it comes to top crypto exchanges.
The exchange reviewed above is what we call an “entry-level exchange”. This means that this exchange also makes it possible for someone to enter the cryptocurrency market with fiat currency. There are numerous entry-level exchanges out there, including (but not limited to):
