On Thursday, the Zilliqa team announced via X that Zilliqa 2.0 is now live, serving as a re-architecture of the network. The team added that this upgrade is a foundation rebuilt for real capital, real use cases, and real performance.
Key features of the upgrade include modular components that allow for greater network flexibility and future scalability. The update also introduces support for tokenized assets, verifiable smart contracts, and compliance-aligned DeFi infrastructure.
The upgrade also adds customizable shards, cross-chain communication, light client support, and updated staking mechanics.
