Editorial Standards
Last updated: July 9th, 2025
1. Editorial Independence
At Cryptowisser News, we maintain full editorial independence from advertisers, investors, sponsors, and affiliated third parties. Our editorial staff make publication decisions based solely on journalistic merit, public interest, and relevance---without interference or influence from commercial or political entities.
No staff member or contributor may accept compensation in exchange for coverage, nor maintain undisclosed financial holdings in the subjects they report on. Potential conflicts of interest are disclosed and managed according to strict internal protocols.
2. Fact-Checking Policy
We apply a multi-tiered fact-checking process to all editorial content prior to publication:
- Primary source verification -- factual assertions must be backed by direct evidence (e.g., official filings, smart contracts, whitepapers).
- Secondary source validation -- where secondary sources are used, they must be reputable and editorially independent.
- Subject-matter consultation -- for technical or legal issues, expert input may be sought before publication.
- Timestamping and tracking -- all articles include visible timestamps; significant updates or changes are documented transparently.
3. Sources and Attribution
Transparency of sourcing is central to our credibility:
- Named sources are used wherever feasible.
- Anonymous sources require editorial approval and corroboration, and we thus apply heightened editorial scrutiny before relying on them.
- We never pay sources for information.
- We protect whistleblowers and internal leakers when disclosure serves the public interest and complies with applicable law.
- All third-party content, quotes, and data must be properly attributed, hyperlinked, or footnoted in accordance with journalistic norms.
Plagiarism, including improper paraphrasing, in any form is grounds for immediate disciplinary action.
4. Conflict of Interest Policy
All editorial staff and contributors must disclose:
- Financial holdings in cryptocurrencies or blockchain ventures they report on;
- Past or current employment or consulting relationships in the industry; and
- Any affiliations, partnerships, or family ties that may create bias or perceived bias.
Editors will reassign stories if a conflict of interest is identified.
We prohibit speculative trading in crypto assets by staff prior to or immediately after reporting on them.
Cryptowisser News do not accept payment for coverage or engage in promotional "pay-to-publish" schemes.
5. Publishing Cadence (Update Frequency Commitment)
We are committed to maintaining a consistent publishing rhythm that reflects the fast-moving nature of the crypto ecosystem.
- News reporting is published multiple times per day on business days.
- Long-form analysis and guides are updated regularly as developments arise.
- Corrections and updates to published material are made in a timely manner, with clear notations on the article.
All content includes a visible "Last Updated" date to ensure transparency and recency.
6. Correction and Retraction Policy
Despite rigorous procedures, errors may occur. When they do:
- We promptly investigate and assess the claim;
- If warranted, we publish a correction or clarification with a visible editorial note; and
- In cases of substantial error, a formal retraction may be issued, with full disclosure of the rationale.
For full detail, please see our corrections and retractions policy.
7. Use of AI Tools
We use AI tools exclusively to assist with administrative or editorial tasks (e.g., transcription, grammar checks), never as a replacement for human writing or judgment. No AI-generated content is published without explicit human oversight and fact verification.
We will never use deepfakes, manipulated media, or speculative models.
8. Legal Compliance
The company operating Cryptowisser News is governed by Swedish law. We do however comply with all applicable local and international laws, including but not limited to:
- Defamation and libel legislation;
- Copyright, intellectual property, and fair use regulations;
- Financial services regulations (e.g., securities disclosures); and
- Data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR and equivalents). For more information on how we handle your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy, our Integrity Policy and our Cookie Policy.
9. Professional Conduct and Non-Discrimination
All contributors must engage with sources, readers, and colleagues in a professional, respectful, and civil manner.
We do not tolerate discrimination or bias based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or political ideology in our reporting or internal operations.
Harassment, abusive conduct, or unethical behavior online or offline may result in immediate termination of publishing privileges.
10. Periodic Review and Disclosure of Revisions
This document is reviewed semi-annually by the Editor-in-Chief. Any material updates to editorial standards will be:
- Timestamped at the top of this page; and
