Common-Stock Sales Fund Bitcoin Purchase
Strategy sold 1,469,165 shares of its Class A common stock during the week, generating about $246.2 million in net proceeds. The filing allocates $142.7 million of those proceeds to bitcoin purchases and $103.5 million to STRC preferred-stock repurchases.
That allocation corrects a reversal in the supplied article: the bitcoin purchase was funded by the larger portion of the common-stock proceeds. Strategy used an additional $48.1 million from USD Cash for the STRC buyback, bringing its total preferred-share repurchases to approximately $151.7 million.
Alongside its bitcoin purchases, Strategy has proposed paying dividends on four preferred-stock series—STRC, STRD, STRF and STRK—daily instead of on their current schedules.
The change requires shareholder approval. According to the company, the proposal would change payment timing without raising the regular dividend rates or its total regular dividend obligations.
Strategy remains the largest public corporate holder of bitcoin by a wide margin. Its latest purchase takes its holdings above 4% of the eventual 21 million BTC supply, extending a treasury strategy that ties much of the company’s value to bitcoin’s performance.
