Bitfinex Securities is offering investors access to a tokenized security linked to high-purity nickel wire, expanding its portfolio of blockchain-based real-world assets.
The platform plans to list ALKN, a digital security connected to Alkemya Metacore, a Luxembourg-based investment and operating company focused on high-technology industrial metals.
ALKN Offering Targets $50 Million Raise
Bitfinex Securities has announced a $50 million tokenized capital raise for Alkemya Metacore.
The platform is built around a stockpile of approximately 7 million meters of high-purity nickel wire valued at $1.6 billion. The physical material is held in custody in Switzerland.
ALKN will be available for primary subscription to eligible investors until October 15. Bitfinex Securities said it represents one of the world’s first tokenized nickel products.
The company also described ALKN as the first tokenized commodity offering launched under El Salvador’s digital asset regulatory framework.
Nickel wire is commonly embedded within industrial supply chains, making it difficult for many investors to access as a standalone financial asset.
The blockchain-based structure is designed to transform exposure to the metal into a tradable product. According to Bitfinex Securities, the model could enable continuous hedging and allow the tokenized asset to be used as collateral where supported.
The offering follows a broader trend of traditional assets—including gold, equities and oil—moving onto blockchain networks.
Onchain markets can operate around the clock, providing trading access outside the standard hours of conventional commodity and securities exchanges.
Alkemya Targets High-Technology Metals Market
Alkemya Metacore focuses on the industrial development, commercialization, and financial structuring of high-technology metals.
The capital raised through the ALKN offering will support engineered nickel products developed through Green Transitional Metals, Alkemya’s operating subsidiary.
Bitfinex Securities Head of Operations Jesse Knutson said the project demonstrates how blockchain can bring previously difficult-to-access asset classes to investors within regulated structures.
Alkemya plans to commercialize engineered nickel products across several technology-intensive industries.
Potential applications include electromagnetic interference shielding, semiconductors, aerospace and defense equipment, power infrastructure and industrial systems.
The company also intends to target green hydrogen production and technologies used to recover rare and precious metals.
These industrial uses provide the underlying commercial focus for the tokenized capital raise, connecting blockchain-based financing with demand for specialized materials.
Bitfinex Expands its Real-World Asset Offering
The ALKN listing broadens Bitfinex Securities’ involvement in the tokenization of real-world assets.
Tokenization allows issuers to represent economic exposure to traditional assets through digital securities. Depending on their structure and regulatory restrictions, these products can offer broader accessibility, faster settlement and extended trading hours.
For Alkemya, the model is intended to unlock financing and trading applications around a commodity that has traditionally remained inside industrial supply chains.
