Chainlink announced via X on Monday that Aave has adopted Chainlink CCIP as the cross-chain infra powering its new mobile app.
CCIP exceeds the security standards required to bring Aave mainstream, and it extends the Chainlink infrastructure that Aave Protocol has used for years.
The Aave App is designed to make DeFi feel like a modern fintech application. Users earn Aave-powered yield across multiple chains without knowing it, and without dealing with the infrastructure underneath each action.
CCIP provides the cross-chain messaging and transfer capabilities that make this possible. Vault rebalancing, yield optimization, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers across Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum all route through a shared infrastructure standard. Instead of manual bridge-and-deposit steps, the app handles cross-chain movement in the background.
Chainlink is enabling institutional-grade assets to be leveraged across treasury, liquidity, collateral, and reporting workflows onchain at scale.
Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and a market leader powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). Chainlink stands to benefit most from emerging blockchain industry trends, such as stablecoin adoption, real-world asset tokenization, and institutional adoption of blockchain technology.
Chainlink is powered by the LINK token, which is used to pay for platform services and secure the network’s proper functioning. Chainlink leverages a novel fee model where offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted to LINK tokens and stored in a strategic Chainlink Reserve.
Chainlink is at the forefront of financial innovation and the global tokenization trend. Traditional financial institutions and infrastructure, such as SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear, J.P. Morgan, Mastercard, the Central Bank of Brazil, UBS, SBI, Fidelity International, ANZ, and many others, are adopting Chainlink as a fundamental infrastructure as they move toward tokenizing trillions onchain. Demand for Chainlink has already generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue across a variety of traditional and decentralized use cases.
Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is down 0.5% over the past 24 hours, trading at $7.92.
Aave protocol is a decentralized, open-source, and non-custodial money market protocol. Depositors earn interest by providing liquidity to lending pools, while borrowers can obtain overcollateralized loans by using the liquidity from these pools. AAVE is trading at $96.06 per token, down 0.4% in the last 24 hours.
The project allows people to borrow and lend in about 20 cryptocurrencies, meaning that users have a greater amount of choice. One of Aave’s flagship products is “flash loans,” which have been billed as the first uncollateralized loan option in the DeFi space. There’s a catch: they must be paid back within the same transaction.
