Crex24 Review

A trading cryptocurrency guide must provide reviews of all of the top crypto exchanges out there, so that you can find the best cryptocurrency exchange site for you. This review of Crex24 consists of four parts: general information, fees, deposit methods and security.

General Information

Crex24 is an Estonian cryptocurrency exchange. It launched in 2017.

Other Estonian exchanges include: BTCbear, Jubiter and Kriptomat. Estonia is actually the only country in the Baltics that have any cryptocurrency exchanges (that we know of).

The company behind this exchange is Crex24 OÜ (reg. number 14419665). The fact that the exchange publically displays the name of its owning corporation provides some comfort to its traders. When an exchange displays a company with company details on its website, we believe it makes it less likely that the exchange has fraudulent intentions.

Crex24 offers trading in a quite large selection of trading pairs. You can find all of the biggest cryptocurrencies here, but not only that. The exchange also offers trading in a lot of small to medium-sized cryptocurrencies.

Crex24 does not explicitly state that US-investors are prohibited from trading. Accordingly, we do believe that US-investors can trade here. Any US-investors interested in trading here should in any event form their own opinion on any issues arising from their citizenship or residency.

Crex24 Trading View

Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the trading views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. Before you choose an exchange, try to have a look at the trading view so that you can ascertain that it feels right to you. The below is a picture of the trading view at Crex24:

Faucet

Another very interesting feature with this exchange is that they have their own faucets. With this faucet, users can easily ask to receive specific cryptocurrencies entirely free of charge. Naturally, the number of requests you can make is time-limited. The time intervals range from 5 minutes (meaning you can make a new request every 5 minutes) up to 1 day. The layout is as set out below:

Crex24 Fees

Crex24 Trading fees

Every trade occurs between two parties: the maker, whose order exists on the order book prior to the trade. The maker thus “makes” the order being executed. The other party is the taker, who places the order that matches (or “takes”) the maker’s order. The maker-taker model normally encourages market liquidity by rewarding the makers of that liquidity with a fee discount.

Crex24’s trading fees for takers are 0.10%. This fee is far below the global industry average. The global industry average is arguably around 0.25%. Crex24’s trading fees are also far below the domestic industry average (the other Estonian exchanges charge higher fees). The fee thus constitutes a competitive advantage. But it doesn’t stop there.

Crex24’s fees for makers are -0.01%. This means that you get paid to trade. This is a great deal for the makers in the trades at this exchange. We are really impressed by it. There are only five other exchanges in the world that have negative maker fees.

Crex24 Withdrawal fees

We have already concluded that Crex24’s trading fees are competitive, but how about Crex24’s withdrawal fees? The fee is not clearly stated on their website, they only state that “the fee depends on the currency and the deposit/withdrawal method.” However, when testing the exchange we noticed that the fee when withdrawing BTC was 0.001 BTC. This is slightly above the global industry average BTC-withdrawal fee (0.0008 BTC). Accordingly, the Crex24-withdrawal fees are not as competitive as the trading fees, but not a reason to reject the exchange either.

Deposit Methods

At Crex24, you can deposit through both wire transfer and credit cards. This can be helpful especially for newer crypto investors.

Crex24 Security

One might ask why security is even a feature that we at Cryptowisser have looked for at the different top crypto exchanges. Two reasons:

  • Exchanges store a massive amount of valuable personally identifiable information.
  • Exchanges handle a lot of cash or coin deposits and withdrawals.

Crex24’s security score is B, when performing the test at Observatory by Mozilla (https://observatory.mozilla.org/). This is far above average when it comes to top crypto exchanges. Good job, Crex24!
