Worldpay’s “Payments DVN” is Powered By LayerZero

On Tuesday, the LayerZero team announced via X that Worldpay/Globaly Payments is launching a decentralized verifier network (DVN) on LayerZero, giving applications an enterprise-leading option to verify cross-chain messages before execution.

The Payments DVN is purpose-built to secure payment operations across chains. Any team building stablecoin, tokenized asset, or other flows on multiple blockchains can now choose to be secured by Worldpay/Global Payments.

With this launch, LayerZero applications point to Worldpay/Global Payments to verify transactions across Ethereum, Base, and Solana, and six other chains with the Payments DVN.

LayerZero is an interoperability protocol designed to facilitate seamless communication between different blockchains. It aims to create a unified, interconnected blockchain ecosystem where assets and data can move freely across various networks.

LayerZero is an omnichain interoperability protocol designed for lightweight message passing across chains. LayerZero provides authentic and guaranteed message delivery with configurable trustlessness. It is a “blockchain of blockchains” that allows other blockchain networks to communicate directly and in a trustless manner.

LayerZero’s key feature is Ultra Light Nodes (ULNs). These smart contracts run on each blockchain and act as endpoints for cross-chain communication. ULNs verify the validity of transactions and messages from other chains using block headers and transaction proofs, ensuring security and efficiency.

ZRO trades at $1.92, up 3.1% in the last 24 hours. LayerZero supports any blockchain that can run smart contracts, such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Fantom, and other chains. LayerZero also supports non-EVM chains like Aptos. These so-called omnichain applications should become a key layer of a multi-chain future, where different blockchains interact simultaneously.

LayerZero aims to create the optimal interoperability solution for blockchains with seamless and trustless cross-chain transactions.
