On Monday, the LayerZero team announced via X that Anchorage, home to America’s first federally chartered crypto bank, has selected LayerZero as its interoperability partner for regulated stablecoin issuance.
This means US-regulated stablecoins issued through Anchorage Digital's platform, including Tether's USAT, Western Union's USDPT, and OSL Group's USDGO, can now be connected to 170+ chains, powered by LayerZero's OFT standard.
Over several months, LayerZero and Anchorage Digital collaborated to design a comprehensive solution for issuance and cross-chain operations with regulators in mind.
Anchorage Digital’s stablecoin issuance platform supports institutions seeking to launch compliant, scalable stablecoins, including Tether (USAT), Western Union (USDPT), OSL Group (USDGO), and Falcon Finance (fUSD).
Through this partnership, LayerZero will serve as the preferred interoperability layer for Anchorage Digital’s issued stablecoins, helping ensure they can reach users wherever they transact.
LayerZero is an interoperability protocol designed to facilitate seamless communication between different blockchains. It aims to create a unified, interconnected blockchain ecosystem where assets and data can move freely across various networks.
LayerZero is an omnichain interoperability protocol designed for lightweight message passing across chains. LayerZero provides authentic and guaranteed message delivery with configurable trustlessness. It is a “blockchain of blockchains” that allows other blockchain networks to communicate directly and in a trustless manner.
LayerZero’s key feature is Ultra Light Nodes (ULNs). These smart contracts run on each blockchain and act as endpoints for cross-chain communication. ULNs verify the validity of transactions and messages from other chains using block headers and transaction proofs, ensuring security and efficiency.
ZRO trades at $1.17, up by 2% in the last 24 hours. LayerZero supports any blockchain that can run smart contracts, such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Fantom, and other chains. LayerZero also supports non-EVM chains like Aptos. These so-called omnichain applications should become a key layer of a multi-chain future, where different blockchains interact simultaneously.
LayerZero aims to create the optimal interoperability solution for blockchains with seamless and trustless cross-chain transactions.
