Solana Experiences Another Outage
Solana has confirmed an outage on its blockchain, with block progression now on hold. According to an incident report, the Solana team said,
"Engineers from across the ecosystem are investigating an outage on mainnet-beta.”
Blockchain software company and Solana validator Laine posted on X that,
“Solana mainnet-beta is experiencing a performance degradation, block progression is currently halted, core engineers and validators are actively investigating.”

The Solana team later revealed that engineers are already preparing a validator software release, including a patch to address the issue which caused the halt.
Engineers from across the ecosystem are readying a new validator software release, which includes a patch to address an issue which caused the cluster to halt. Validator operators should prepare for an upgrade and restart of the network.

Solana later confirmed that engineers were readying a new validator software release. "Validator operators should prepare for an upgrade and restart of the network," the team added.
This is Solana’s first network outage in 2024 and the first since February 2023. During its beta phase, Solana previously suffered a series of outages in 2022 as a result of node issues.
