Orbs, a decentralized Layer-3 blockchain infrastructure provider focused on advanced on-chain trading, has launched Orbs Institutional, a new solution designed to give trading desks, OTC firms, treasuries, custodians, and financial platforms direct access to its decentralized execution infrastructure.
In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the team said the launch expands access to technology that has processed more than $2.5 billion in spot trading volume since 2023 across over 30 decentralized exchange integrations and more than 10 blockchain networks.
Previously, Orbs’ execution infrastructure was primarily available through decentralized trading platforms such as PancakeSwap, SushiSwap, QuickSwap, and THENA. The new offering now makes those capabilities directly accessible to institutional users.
Growing Institutional Interest in DeFi
As institutional participation in decentralized finance continues to increase, firms are exploring on-chain execution as a complement to traditional trading infrastructure.
However, many institutions continue to face challenges related to execution quality, custody and asset control, market transparency, and protection against front-running and MEV risks.
Orbs says its new institutional offering is designed to address these concerns while preserving the benefits of decentralized markets.
The centerpiece of Orbs Institutional is Liquidity Hub, the company’s liquidity aggregation protocol.
The system sources liquidity from both decentralized exchanges and professional market makers through a private request-for-quote (RFQ) layer. According to Orbs, this approach helps improve execution quality while reducing exposure to front-running and maximal extractable value (MEV).
Institutional clients will also gain access to Orbs’ advanced trading tools, including:
-
dTWAP (decentralized time-weighted average price execution)
-
dLIMIT (limit order functionality)
-
dSLTP (stop-loss and take-profit automation)
These tools are designed to provide more sophisticated execution capabilities within decentralized markets.
While commenting on this launch, Ran Hammer, Chief Business Officer at Orbs, said,
"Institutions shouldn't have to choose between the efficiency of decentralized markets and the standards they expect from professional trading infrastructure. We've spent years building and refining execution technology that now powers some of the most active trading venues in DeFi. With Orbs Institutional, we're making that infrastructure directly accessible to trading desks, treasuries, custodians, and platforms looking to execute on-chain with greater transparency, competitive pricing, and full control over their assets."
A key feature of the platform is that assets remain under client control throughout the execution process.
Orders can be signed using existing custody platforms, treasury management systems, and Multi-party computation (MPC) infrastructure.
The platform supports the EIP-712 signing standard, allowing institutions to integrate with existing operational workflows.
Orbs also highlighted its security track record, noting that its protocol operates through audited smart contracts, contains no admin keys, and has remained live since 2017 without any publicly known exploits.
Orbs believes the next phase of decentralized finance growth will be driven by professional market participants seeking direct access to on-chain liquidity while maintaining institutional-grade controls and transparency.
According to the company, demand for self-custodied, automated, and transparent execution solutions is expected to increase as digital asset markets continue to mature.
With the launch of Orbs Institutional, the company is positioning itself to serve as a bridge between traditional financial participants and the growing ecosystem of decentralized trading infrastructure.
Orbs is a decentralized Layer 3 blockchain designed for advanced on-chain trading. Using a Proof-of-Stake consensus, Orbs acts as a supplementary execution layer, enabling complex logic and scripts beyond the capabilities of standard smart contracts.
Orbs-powered protocols, including dLIMIT, dTWAP, Liquidity Hub, and Perpetual Hub, bring CeFi-level execution to decentralized markets. With a global team spanning multiple locations, Orbs continues to innovate at the frontier of blockchain infrastructure.
