KuMining, the cloud mining platform backed by cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin, has launched ZEC Cloud Mining, giving users a simplified way to participate in Zcash mining without the need to purchase or maintain specialized mining equipment.
In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the team said the new offering expands KuMining's Proof-of-Work product lineup while lowering the technical and financial barriers traditionally associated with cryptocurrency mining.
Applications for the service are now open to eligible users through the KuMining platform.
Bringing Professional Mining Infrastructure to More Users
Zcash is a Proof-of-Work blockchain launched in 2016 with a maximum supply capped at 21 million ZEC.
Mining the cryptocurrency typically requires dedicated ASIC hardware, reliable power infrastructure, and ongoing technical management—requirements that can make participation expensive and complex for individual users.
KuMining's new cloud mining product removes those hurdles by allowing users to purchase access to ZEC mining hashrate directly through the KuCoin ecosystem.
Instead of sourcing hardware, configuring mining pools, or maintaining mining facilities, participants can access mining rewards through a managed cloud-based service.
The launch aligns with KuMining's goal of making industrial-scale mining more accessible to a wider audience.
Built around the company's "Simple Mining, Smart Gains" philosophy, the platform is designed to simplify the mining experience by handling infrastructure management on behalf of users.
By removing the need for ASIC ownership and technical expertise, KuMining aims to transform Zcash mining into a more accessible method of accumulating digital assets.
Flexible "Mine First, Pay Electricity Later" Model
One of the product's distinguishing features is its "mine first, pay electricity later" payment model.
Rather than requiring users to cover all operating costs upfront, the structure is intended to reduce the initial financial commitment while providing a more flexible path to participating in cloud mining.
Users accumulate ZEC mining rewards throughout the contract period, with returns depending on network conditions and the platform's operating rules.
Commenting on the launch, KuMining Chief Operating Officer Jolie Du said,
“Mining has historically been limited by access to specialized hardware, infrastructure, and operational expertise. Our goal is to make professional mining infrastructure accessible to more users, so participation is no longer defined by who owns the most equipment, but by who wants to take part in the Proof-of-Work ecosystem. The launch of ZEC Cloud Mining is another step toward lowering barriers and giving users more ways to participate in digital asset mining through a simpler and more accessible experience."
According to the company, expanding access to professional mining infrastructure allows more users to participate in the Proof-of-Work ecosystem without the operational complexity traditionally associated with mining.
KuMining believes lowering these barriers can help broaden participation across the cryptocurrency mining sector.
The introduction of ZEC Cloud Mining reflects KuMining's broader strategy of developing easier-to-access mining products for retail users.
KuCoin launched the KuMining feature during the Token2049 event in October 2025. By abstracting the complexities of hardware procurement, facility management, and mining operations, the platform aims to make participation in Proof-of-Work networks more inclusive while allowing users to gain exposure to mining rewards through a simplified cloud-based experience.
