GoMining has launched Step Down Auction, a new feature on its secondary marketplace that automates the buying and selling of Digital Miners through scheduled price reductions.
In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the company said the new system allows sellers to set both a starting price and a minimum price for their Digital Miner listings. Instead of relying on manual price adjustments, the listing price automatically decreases at predetermined intervals until a buyer purchases the asset.
How Step Down Auction Works
Unlike traditional auctions that require competitive bidding, Step Down Auction follows a descending-price model. Sellers establish their pricing parameters in advance, while buyers monitor the listing and decide when to purchase. The first buyer to accept the current listed price secures the Digital Miner.
The automated pricing mechanism is designed to simplify transactions while giving buyers greater flexibility to wait for a lower price or act early before another buyer completes the purchase.
The new feature provides buyers with real-time visibility into each listing's pricing schedule. Users can view the current price, upcoming price reductions, and a complete timeline showing when future price changes will occur.
This added transparency allows buyers to make more informed decisions based on their preferred entry price.
"Step Down Auction gives users a new way to discover value and complete transactions more efficiently," said Mark Zalan, CEO of GoMining. "By combining transparent pricing with automated price reductions, we're creating a marketplace experience that is more engaging for buyers while helping sellers reach market-clearing prices faster."
Expanded Marketplace Access and New Listing Options
Alongside the launch, GoMining has broadened access to its secondary marketplace by allowing all users to browse available listings, increasing visibility for assets listed for sale.
The company has also simplified the listing process by enabling users to list Mine Boxes without minting them beforehand, reducing friction for sellers entering the marketplace.
GoMining has introduced additional marketplace tools to help buyers evaluate Digital Miners before making a purchase. Listings now display current return on investment (ROI) data, along with detailed price history, previous reductions, future scheduled price drops, and the exact date and time a listing reaches its minimum price.
The marketplace interface has also been redesigned with new filtering and sorting capabilities. A Hot Deals filter highlights listings with the highest ROI, while a Price Type filter allows users to browse Fixed Price and Step Down Auction listings separately.
For Step Down Auction listings, buyers can also sort assets by Next Price Drop, making it easier to identify listings that are approaching their next scheduled price reduction.
To improve marketplace integrity, GoMining has implemented an additional verification step for buyers completing transactions. All purchases on the secondary marketplace continue to be settled using the GOMINING token.
GoMining Aims to Improve Marketplace Liquidity
The launch of Step Down Auction marks GoMining's latest effort to improve liquidity and enhance the user experience across its digital mining ecosystem. By combining automated descending-price sales with expanded marketplace functionality and improved transparency, the company aims to create a more efficient trading environment for both buyers and sellers.
