Coinbase Unveils Major Product Expansion to Become the ‘Everything Exchange’

TL;DR

  • Coinbase launches AI-powered Coinbase Advisor for personalized investing insights.

  • Coinbase One Card adds 5% Bitcoin rewards through a new travel portal.

Coinbase Broadens Vision Beyond Crypto Trading

Coinbase has announced a broad suite of new products and services aimed at transforming the platform into what it calls an “Everything Exchange.”

The latest rollout includes enhancements to its trading infrastructure, stock and options offerings, token launch platform, prediction markets, and AI-powered financial advisory services.

The company is also expanding its rewards ecosystem through updates to the Coinbase One Card and a new travel booking platform.

According to Coinbase executives, the goal is to position the exchange as users’ primary financial account for investing, spending, earning, and managing wealth.

AI-Powered Coinbase Advisor Debuts

One of the most significant additions is Coinbase Advisor, an SEC-registered investment advisory service integrated directly into the Coinbase app.

The AI-powered platform provides personalized investment insights and portfolio recommendations based on user holdings, market conditions, and real-time news developments.

Unlike automated trading bots, Coinbase Advisor does not execute trades on behalf of users. Instead, it delivers customized strategies across multiple asset classes, including cryptocurrencies, equities, and prediction markets.

Executives described the service as a next-generation version of traditional robo-advisors, leveraging artificial intelligence to generate more dynamic and personalized financial guidance.

Coinbase is also enhancing its Coinbase One membership ecosystem through updates to its rewards card and a new travel portal.

Developed in partnership with Booking.com, the travel platform allows users to book flights, hotels, and rental cars while earning 5% back in Bitcoin rather than traditional airline miles or reward points.

The company is simultaneously making its Coinbase One Card more accessible by allowing customers to use USDC balances as collateral. Users can secure the card with deposits ranging from $500 to $5,000, expanding access beyond those who qualify for traditional credit products.

A major infrastructure upgrade will merge Coinbase’s previously separated U.S. and international trading liquidity.

The unified global liquidity pool will support both spot and derivatives trading, allowing customers to benefit from deeper market liquidity and improved execution across regions.

The development follows recent regulatory approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) that enables Coinbase to offer perpetual-style futures contracts in the United States.

As a result, products previously limited to international markets are expected to become increasingly available to U.S. users over the coming months.

Stocks, Options, and New Thematic Futures Expand Trading Choices

Coinbase is accelerating its push into traditional financial markets. The exchange plans to support trading in major U.S. stocks, ETFs, and market indexes while also enabling users to transfer existing equity portfolios onto the platform.

Following its acquisition of Deribit, Coinbase is expanding options trading capabilities across both cryptocurrencies and equities.

The company is also launching a series of thematic perpetual futures products, including:

  • AI10

  • China10

  • Defense10

  • Tech100

These products allow traders to gain exposure to curated baskets of assets through perpetual futures contracts, bringing crypto-style trading mechanics to broader financial themes.

Coinbase is further expanding access to private-market opportunities through pre-IPO perpetual futures.

The company recently introduced a SpaceX-related contract, which executives say provided effective price discovery ahead of the company’s anticipated public market activity.

Future offerings are expected to include contracts tied to highly anticipated companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI.

The initiative reflects growing demand among retail traders for exposure to private-market valuations before traditional public listings occur.

Token Launches Receive Dedicated Marketplace

Coinbase is also integrating token launchpads more deeply into its ecosystem through a new “Launches” tab.

The feature will provide users with early visibility into new token projects launching on Base and Solana-based platforms before they transition to broader on-chain trading.

The update builds on Coinbase’s recent decentralized exchange integrations and aims to streamline the discovery of emerging crypto assets directly within the main application.

Prediction Markets Add Crypto Binaries and Bundled Trades

Coinbase’s prediction market platform is also receiving new functionality. Users will soon be able to trade crypto binary markets that allow short-term predictions on whether assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana will move higher or lower over defined periods, including 15-minute intervals.

The company is additionally introducing bundled prediction trades, enabling users to combine multiple forecasts into a single position across topics such as economics, politics, and financial markets.

The latest System Update reflects Coinbase’s broader strategy of expanding beyond cryptocurrency trading into a comprehensive financial services ecosystem.

As competition intensifies among major exchanges such as Binance, Kraken, and OKX, Coinbase is positioning itself as a platform where users can manage every aspect of their financial lives—from spending and investing to borrowing, trading, and wealth management.

With AI-driven advisory tools, traditional asset trading, global liquidity integration, and expanded rewards programs, Coinbase is taking another major step toward its vision of becoming the primary financial hub for the digital asset era.
