Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has launched a physical crypto education hub in Cameroon in a bid to educate more people on cryptocurrency.

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, is expanding its presence in Africa. A recent report in the continent has revealed that Binance has launched a crypto education hub in Yaounde, Cameroon.

The crypto education hub was possible thanks to Binance’s collaboration with Inoni Tech, a tech hub delivering training and resources for young people across Francophone Africa.

Tech hubs have become very popular in Africa and are leading to the expansion of the tech ecosystem in the continent. The Co-Creation Hub in Nigeria and the Silicon Cape Initiative in South Africa are two of the most popular ones in Africa.

Binance’s crypto education hub in Cameroon is first-of-its-kind and will serve as an in-person training center and resource library for young blockchain and crypto education enthusiasts.

According to the report, the hub will be located in the Bastos region of Yaounde. At the hub, the cryptocurrency exchange is expected to provide the needed internet connectivity to enable the proselytization of crypto literacy and adoption while providing global job opportunities and skill acquisition programs.

The physical cryptocurrency education hub will do a lot of good in Cameroon since 66.5% of its population lack internet access. The physical hub will make it easier to train people on-site in the country.

While commenting on this latest development, Carine Dikambi, Francophone Africa Lead at Binance, said;

“Africans continue to interact with crypto in very different ways, establishing some of its most important use cases and opportunities for greater financial inclusion. Through the Binance crypto hub, we see a more on-the-ground approach as an essential step in demystifying the concepts, fostering the right understanding of the many opportunities that education, web 3.0 and the blockchain ecosystem can bring to Cameroon and, ultimately, Francophone Africa.”

The Binance Africa team has been expanding its presence in Africa since it launched the Binance Masterclass Series in January 2020 (which saw over 200 young people attend the event in Nigeria.)

The cryptocurrency exchange has steadily grown its footprints in blockchain ecosystem education across Africa. Binance has organized numerous offline and online classes and trained over 600,000 Africans on cryptocurrency.

The crypto hub in Cameroon takes Binance’s presence in Africa to a new level, increases its brand trust, and cements its position as a major player in Africa’s cryptocurrency space.

Binance’s further expansion in Africa and more positive Binance reviews ensure that the cryptocurrency exchange further cements its place as the world’s leading digital asset trading platform.
