XRP Breaks Through Key Resistance
XRP posted a strong bullish move over the past 24 hours, finally breaking above the $1.14 resistance level that had capped several recent rally attempts.
The token climbed from $1.1344 to $1.1454, gaining 2.87% during the session, with buyers briefly pushing prices as high as $1.158 before profit-taking triggered a pullback.
Although the rally lost momentum near the session highs, the breakout remains technically significant as traders now watch whether former resistance around $1.14 can successfully flip into support.
The strongest buying activity occurred at 22:00 UTC on July 5, when trading volume surged to approximately 81.89 million XRP—more than double the average volume recorded over the previous 24 hours.
That burst of buying propelled XRP from roughly $1.136 to nearly $1.159 within two hours, allowing the cryptocurrency to decisively clear the long-standing resistance zone around $1.14.
However, sellers quickly returned near $1.158, driving the price back toward $1.146 and temporarily pushing XRP below the short-term support level at $1.15.
ETF Inflows Continue Supporting Market Sentiment
Investor demand through regulated investment products remains a positive factor for XRP.
Spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded their ninth consecutive week of net inflows, attracting an additional $17.19 million despite broader uncertainty across cryptocurrency markets.
The continued inflows suggest institutional interest remains resilient even as traders await greater regulatory clarity in the United States.
One potential catalyst failed to materialize after the U.S. Senate adjourned for recess without voting on the CLARITY Act.
The delay means market participants will likely have to wait longer for legislation that could provide clearer regulatory guidelines for digital assets.
While the postponement removes a near-term catalyst, investors continue focusing on technical developments and institutional fund flows.
Blockchain analytics indicate that many XRP investors are still holding unrealized losses.
According to Santiment data, XRP's 30-day Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio remains near -45%, while the 365-day MVRV stands around -47%.
Historically, deeply negative MVRV readings can signal that a large percentage of holders are underwater, conditions that some analysts interpret as creating longer-term recovery opportunities if buying demand strengthens.
Technical Outlook Remains Constructive
The XRP/USD 4-hour chart is bullish after the coin added 8% to its value last week. Several technical indicators continue to support a cautiously bullish outlook.
Analysts have highlighted a break above a four-hour downtrend line, bullish momentum divergence, and the possibility of an Elliott Wave continuation pattern.
Although XRP weakened on shorter timeframes after failing to reclaim the $1.155 level, the broader structure remains positive as long as prices stay above the breakout zone near $1.14.
The $1.14–$1.145 region has now become the most important support area following the breakout. If buyers successfully defend this zone, XRP could make another attempt to overcome resistance at $1.155 before targeting the larger resistance band between $1.17 and $1.20.
A decisive move above $1.20 would strengthen the bullish outlook and shift attention toward the next major resistance area around $1.29–$1.30.
On the downside, losing support around $1.145 would weaken the breakout and increase the likelihood of a deeper retracement toward $1.142 and potentially $1.133.
XRP's recent breakout above $1.14 represents an encouraging technical development, supported by strong trading volume and continued ETF inflows.
However, the quick rejection near $1.16 shows that sellers remain active. Until buyers reclaim $1.155 and push decisively through the $1.17–$1.20 resistance zone, the current move is best viewed as a breakout retest rather than confirmation of a sustained uptrend.
