The Secret Network announced via Twitter that its Shockwave Alpha mainnet upgrade would take place on May 11 instead of the previously set date of April 27.

On Thursday, the Secret Network announced via Twitter that its Shockwave Alpha mainnet upgrade would take place on May 11 instead of the previously set date of April 27. The date change is due to an issue relating to the new upgrade process discovered by The Secrets Labs during its testnet process.

The issue is not related to the new features added by the upgrade, simply the new process by which the upgrade is applied, which had not yet been tested on Secret, the team added. The Secret Network had previously revealed that the Shockwave Alpha upgrade would introduce 500x performance improvements and a few other features.

Secret Network is an interoperable blockchain infrastructure that aims to enable computational privacy for general-purpose smart contracts. SCRT is trading at $4.973 at press time, down by more than 1% in the last 24 hours.
