GoMining has launched the GoBTC Pay Gen1 SDK and API, enabling merchants and wallet providers to integrate non-custodial Bitcoin payments with direct Bitcoin settlement and a developer-friendly infrastructure.

GoMining Launches GoBTC Pay SDK and API to Expand Real-World Bitcoin Payments

TL;DR

  • GoMining has launched the GoBTC Pay Gen1 SDK and API, opening its Bitcoin payment infrastructure to merchants, wallet providers, and ecosystem partners.

  • The release transforms GoBTC Pay from a closed demonstration product into an open platform for building Bitcoin payment solutions.

GoMining Opens GoBTC Pay Infrastructure to Developers and Merchants

Bitcoin mining platform GoMining has officially launched the GoBTC Pay Gen1 SDK and API, enabling merchants, wallet providers, and ecosystem partners to integrate Bitcoin payments directly into real-world products and services.

In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the team said this release represents the next stage in the development of GoBTC Pay, GoMining’s Layer 1 Bitcoin payment protocol designed to facilitate fast, non-custodial transactions while maintaining Bitcoin’s core principles.

With the launch, GoBTC Pay transitions from a closed demo environment into an open infrastructure layer that third parties can use to build and scale Bitcoin payment experiences.

As part of the rollout strategy, GoMining plans to onboard an initial group of up to 10 merchants and ecosystem partners. These participants will begin integrating GoBTC Pay into their platforms, helping to expand the protocol’s real-world use cases.

According to GoMining, the goal is to make Bitcoin more practical for everyday transactions by providing businesses with tools that simplify payment acceptance.

Bringing Bitcoin Closer to Everyday Commerce

Mark Zalan, CEO of GoMining, said the company views Bitcoin as a payment network rather than solely a store of value.

He noted that Bitcoin was originally designed to facilitate value transfer between individuals and that the launch of the SDK and API provides merchants and wallet providers with the infrastructure needed to bring Bitcoin payments into mainstream commerce.

"Satoshi didn't create Bitcoin to sit idle in wallets. It was designed to move value between people," said Zalan, "With the launch of the GoBTC Pay SDK and API, we're giving merchants and wallet providers the infrastructure to bring that vision into real-world commerce in a way that is seamless and intuitive for users. We believe Bitcoin's next chapter will be defined by how people use it, in addition to how many people own it."

GoMining believes Bitcoin’s next phase of adoption will be driven not only by ownership but also by real-world usage.

Key Features of the Gen1 Release

The Gen1 launch includes a range of tools designed to support businesses and developers integrating Bitcoin payments.

Features include:

  • Merchant onboarding tools

  • Payment management functionality

  • A web-based merchant dashboard

  • Online payment integrations

  • Public developer documentation

  • Open APIs for wallets and institutional partners

The company says these tools are intended to simplify implementation while enabling scalable Bitcoin payment experiences.

Unlike many crypto payment systems that rely on custodial models or off-chain settlement mechanisms, GoBTC Pay settles transactions directly on the Bitcoin blockchain.

The protocol allows users to retain control of their Bitcoin throughout the payment process while giving merchants a payment experience similar to traditional debit card transactions.

GoBTC Pay is powered by GoMining’s private 15 EH/s mempool infrastructure built on the Stratum V2 protocol, which helps prioritize GoBTC Pay transactions.

The platform targets an average settlement window of approximately 12 hours while maintaining direct Bitcoin settlement and user ownership of funds.

A key component of GoBTC Pay is its incentive structure, which is designed to align the interests of merchants, wallet providers, and miners.

Under the model:

  • Merchants pay a 0.2% transaction fee.

  • The fee is split equally between participating wallet providers and miners within the GoMining pool that process settlements.

GoMining believes this approach can encourage broader network participation and help drive increased adoption of Bitcoin for everyday purchases.

Part of a Broader Bitcoin Payments Strategy

The SDK and API launch follows the introduction of GoBTC Pay at the Consensus Miami conference and represents the first step in a wider ecosystem expansion plan.

The company aims to accelerate merchant adoption, expand wallet integrations, and grow partnerships that support real-world Bitcoin payment activity.

As competition among crypto payment providers intensifies, GoMining is positioning GoBTC Pay as an infrastructure that enables businesses and developers to build payment experiences directly on Bitcoin without sacrificing user control or decentralization.

GoMining is an all-in-one Bitcoin ecosystem that makes it simple and secure to mine, earn, and use Bitcoin every day.

GoMining serves 5 million users and ranks among the top-10 Bitcoin miners by hashrate globally, with data centers in the U.S. and internationally. The company makes Bitcoin accessible through tokenized hashrate, and an expanding suite of payment and earning products.

GoBTC Pay is a Bitcoin-native payment protocol developed by GoMining that enables instant, non-custodial Bitcoin payments for merchants, consumers, and ecosystem partners.

Built to support real-world commerce while preserving the principles of non-custody and user ownership, GoBTC Pay provides merchants, wallets, and platforms with the infrastructure needed to accept and facilitate Bitcoin transactions cheaply and instantly.

Through its merchant tools, developer APIs, and partner integrations, GoBTC Pay is building an open payments ecosystem designed to expand the everyday use of Bitcoin worldwide.
