Bitcoin whale moves $20M in BTC to Binance amid rising exchange inflows
A bitcoin whale has transferred more than $20 million worth of BTC to Binance, adding to a growing trend of large holders moving funds onto exchanges.
Data obtained from Arkham Intelligence shows that the wallet address “bc1q…kp4n” sent roughly 300 BTC to a Binance deposit address on Tuesday. Despite the transfer, the wallet still holds about 200 BTC, valued at approximately $13.75 million.
Arkham data also shows that the whale accumulated around 513 BTC between January and March 2025, when the holdings were worth roughly $50 million. This suggested that the whale bought the bitcoins at an average price of $97,541 per BTC.
While the motive behind the transfer remains unclear, whales usually move their coins to exchanges when they intend to sell. If the whale chooses to offload its holdings, it would likely be at a loss, with bitcoin currently trading near $68,700.
This latest transaction comes amid increased activity among whales in the market. Over the past few weeks, a long-dormant wallet moved over 2,100 BTC — valued at nearly $148 million — after more than 13 years of inactivity. In a separate case, another whale transferred approximately $33 million worth of bitcoin to Binance.
Bitcoin hit the $70k mark on Monday but has slightly dropped to the $68,700 level at the time of writing on Tuesday. The leading cryptocurrency by market cap remains nearly 50% down from its October 2025 all-time high of nearly $124k.
