On Tuesday, Astar Network announced via X that it is preparing to upgrade to Asynchronous Backing in June. This Polkadot core upgrade will cut block time from 12 seconds to under 6 seconds, delivering a faster, smoother experience for developers and users.

The upgrade will also reduce the ASTR emissions per block by 50%, which will have no effect on overall inflation.

Astar Network is a multi-chain dApp hub on Polkadot. The platform offers users various features, including dApp staking, L2 solutions, gas, and grants. Its native ASTR token is up less than 1% today, trading at $0.03051.
