The Ankr team announced via X on Monday that its Neura Public testnet is now live. Neura is Ankr’s AI-focused Layer 1 blockchain and its ANKR token will act as Neura’s native cryptocurrency, with a mainnet launch anticipated later this year.

Neura will allow developers to build decentralized applications that combine AI, cloud computing and blockchain technology. The blockchain is designed to help AI startups with challenges like securing funding, obtaining GPU resources and storing data efficiently.

Neura is built on the Cosmos SDK and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The blockchain handles AI model data by integrating with off-chain storage solutions such as Celestia, EigenLayer, IPFS, and Arweave. It also takes advantage of the security of the Bitcoin network via its integration with the Bitcoin staking protocol Babylon.

Ankr Network is building a full-stack cloud infrastructure and marketplace for container-based cloud services. Users can now stake FTM tokens on Ankr to earn ANKR tokens. ANKR is trading at $0.05381, up by 7% in the last 24 hours.
