The world’s first Web 3.0 reality show, Build the Block, will go live in the Metaverse on Friday May 12 at 14:00 (UTC).

The show will feature twelve Web 3.0 projects, pitted against each other, for “a chance to acquire the exposure and traction they need to scale their startups into trailblazing enterprises.”

The entrepreneurs will deliver pitches to a live avatar audience and a panel of judges.

On the panel of judges:

  • Yi He, Co-founder and CMO of Binance and Head of Binance Labs

  • Yi Bo Ling, Chief Business Officer of Binance Labs

  • Robby Yung, CEO of Animoca Brands Investment and partner of Animoca Capital

  • Azeem Khan, Fundraising and Partnership lead of Gitcoin

  • Guy Turner, Co-founder and face of CoinBureau.

Over seven 20-minute episodes, audience members will vote for projects to advance, or not, to the next round. Then, the panel of judges will ask them questions and evaluate their responses.

The projects, as described by the Binance announcement:

  1. Mind Network is a decentralized privacy tool with encrypted “pay as you go” data storage and computation.

  2. Kryptostatt offers a suite of finance solutions for accounting, portfolio management, tax reporting, and more..

  3. Sandbags Protocol helps businesses safeguard their clients’ assets.

  4. Wallet Guard is a browser extension that protects users from crypto security threats, including wallet draining and phishing.

  5. Ontropy is a project that aims to remove the need for oracles and bridges via cryptography and zero-knowledge protocols, thus improving speed.

  6. HANA is a layer 0 network with trustless multi-chain interoperability. It allows for secure payments in apps and enterprises.

  7. PIP is a Web3 payment company looking towards the future of global micropayments.

  8. Harvest is a blockchain-based third-person shooter game. It has multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) elements.

  9. Notebook Labs is a compliance infrastructure provider. It allows institutions and retail investors to borrow, trade, and lend on in a compliant, decentralized, and privacy-preserving way.

  10. zkPass is a composable identity protocol that uses zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) and multi-party computation (MPC) to build for a decentralized future.

  11. Brackets Lab is behind a range of products that enable the creation of on-chain leveraged structured financial products.

  12. dappOS looks to lower the barriers to entry to Web3, particularly those related to accessibility and ease of use.

Build the Block is produced by Binance Studio, in collaboration with Binance Labs, the research wing of Binance. Binance is the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. Our Binance review praises the exchange for being on the vanguard of Web 3.0  financial services.
