The Optimism team announced via Twitter on Friday that its Goerli Testnet was successfully upgraded, and an upgrade proposal for Optimism Mainnet has been submitted to the Token House. The upgrade called Bedrock is designed with similar abstractions and minimal difference from Ethereum, the team added.
Optimism’s main utility is to batch transactions on the Optimism network. Optimism allows users to enjoy lower gas fees on their transactions executed on the Optimism network through optimistic roll-up technology. OP is trading at $2.842, down by more than 5% in the last 24 hours.
