The Tezos team announced via Twitter on Monday that it has activated its 12th upgrade, the Lima upgrade. The upgrade was voted upon and approved by the Tezos community. Lima introduces a wide range of upgrades, including; the Consensus Keys, which lets bakers change their key for signing blocks and consensus operations without changing the baker’s public address and the ‘Pipelining validation project’ which speeds up the processing of blocks and operations on Tezos.

Lima fixes two problems that arose during the migration from Jakarta to Kathmandu on the permanent ‘Ghostnet’ test network. Furthermore, ticket ownership updates are now part of transaction receipts, which helps indexers keep track of tickets.

Tezos is a blockchain platform that supports smart contracts and dapps based on the idea of a digital commonwealth, in which governance is democratized in an efficient and sustainable manner to avoid costly hard-fork scenarios.

XTZ is down by 2.6% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.798 per coin.
