Sonic Testnet Goes Live

Sonic Labs, previously known as the Fantom Foundation, announced via X on Friday that its Sonic testnet has gone live. The team added that the next update is the launch of play-to-earn testnet games.

This comes roughly a month after the Fantom Foundation officially rebranded to Sonic Labs. The team launched Sonic Labs across all platforms as they move towards releasing Sonic, the fastest EVM chain with a secure gateway to Ethereum.

Fantom (now Sonic) is building a programmable platform on a directed acyclic-graph-based distributed ledger. Its FTM coin has increased 7.7% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.4348.
