Chainlink announced via X on Thursday that Metis is now using Chainlink CCIP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure in production. Metis is a permissionless Ethereum layer-2 network and a member of Chainlink’s SCALE program. The initial integration features a CCIP lane between Ethereum and Metis, enabling secure cross-chain messaging and transfers of the LINK token.
The Metis team said more new lanes between blockchains and additional tokens will be onboarded over time. The Metis network is also now supported on Transporter, a hyper-secure bridging app powered by Chainlink CCIP, which enables users to transfer tokens to Metis securely and helps increase the liquidity of assets within the Metis ecosystem.
Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is up 6.5% over the past 24 hours and is trading at $10.59 at press time.
