Japan's Bitbank Rolls Out Crypto-Linked Credit Card

Japanese crypto exchange Bitbank has introduced a crypto-linked credit card that allows users to settle their bills directly using digital assets held on the platform. This is the first time such a product has been launched in Japan.

In an announcement on Monday, the firm revealed it has partnered with EPOS Card, part of Marui Group, to launch the Visa-branded “EPOS Crypto Card for Bitbank.” The product enables users to link their exchange balances to everyday spending, with repayments automatically deducted from their crypto holdings.

At launch, the settlement feature is limited to Bitcoin, meaning users can opt to have their monthly credit card bills paid directly in BTC from their Bitbank accounts.

Bitbank added that the card also introduces a crypto cashback program, offering 0.5% rewards on monthly spending.

Users can choose to receive these rewards in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Aster, with earnings deposited straight into their Bitbank wallets.

Bitbank and its partners said they are exploring the possibility of expanding support to additional cryptocurrencies in the future.

This latest development comes after Binance introduced its Binance Japan Card earlier this year, allowing users to earn BNB rewards on spending.
