Binance has partnered with a leading Ukraininer supermarket retailer Varus, with over 100 supermarket stores across the country, to provide cryptocurrency payment options. As the leading cryptocurrency exchange, Binance is well-equipped to offer payment methods to the retail chain using its simple, borderless payment platform Binance Pay.

Customers can now spend their digital currencies online, ordering groceries and covering payments with their Binance Pay wallet. Binance provides a one-stop platform encompassing all aspects of the payment process on the platform.

Ukrainians To Access Varus Supermarkets Online

Ukraine’s Varus supermarket chain announced the partnership via the Binance Ukraine website. As the largest crypto exchange by daily trading volume, Binance will allow Varus customers to purchase food and other goods online using a variety of digital coins and tokens.

Using the Binance app and Varus shopping app, customers will soon be able to enjoy instant crypto payments and quick home delivery in nine Ukrainian cities. The cities offering this service will be Kyiv, Dnipro, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Brovary, Nikopol, Vyshhorod, and Pavlograd.

The Binance app is available for Android and iOS devices and will be required for any Varus shopper hoping to take advantage of crypto payments. From there, they will need to go to the Varus website and select the various products for purchase. Finally, they’ll have the option to send the digital money from the Binance Pay wallet to Varus to complete the purchase.

Ukraine Adopting Crypto

The crypto news outlet Forklog also noted that the Binance Pay service had been integrated for the Ukrainian chain of stores Foxtrot, which supplies home appliances and electronics. Another crypto payment platform, Whitepay, has been available in Ukraine since August 2022, providing payments for products in major Ukrainian tech stores.

Despite enduring war with neighboring country Russia, Ukraine has become a regional leader in the cryptocurrency space, as adoption has been made easier due to efforts from the government to regulate the industry.

In Ukraine, Bitcoin has soared in popularity in recent years, and since the war, it’s risen even more. The government has operated go-fund-me campaigns in Kyiv, as well as volunteer groups actively trying to raise funds in crypto donations to finance defense and humanitarian initiatives.

Binance has played its part in the process, offering Binance Pay options and issuing a special crypto card for Ukrainian refugees, allowing them quick access to digital funds.
