What is BTCBox?
BTCBox is a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange. It has been active since 2014.
BTCBox does not expressly forbid US-investors from trading on its exchange. Regardless, all US-investors should do their own independent assessment of any problems arising from their residency or citizenship. In a worst-case scenario, they may not be able to trade at one or several exchanges that could be the best cryptocurrency exchange site for them (maybe including this one).
This exchange enables you to buy Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Ethereum, with fiat currency. If you would prefer a coin exchange with a more extensive selection of trading pairs, we recommend you to check out our Cryptocurrency Exchange List. You can filter out the exchanges in the list based on which specific cryptocurrencies you want to trade.
BTCBox does not offer crypto-to-crypto trading. They demonstrate that with this colorful infographic that for some reason also includes a cat:
BTCBox Trading View
Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. Before you choose an exchange, try to have a look at the trading view so that you can ascertain that it feels right to you. The below is a picture of the trading view at BTCBox:
BTCBox Trading fees
Trading fees are very important. There are a number of top crypto exchanges who don’t charge different fees between takers and makers. Usually, it is called that such exchanges’ trading fees are “flat”. BTCBox is one of the exchanges that charges flat trading fees. Their flat trading fee is 0.05%.
The global industry average has for a long time been 0.25%, but we are now seeing a shift towards much lower trading fees. The new industry averages that are emerging seem to be 0.10%. Regardless of whether you look at the historical industry averages or the new ones, BTCBox's trading fees of 0.05% are very competitive.
BTCBox Withdrawal fees
BTCBox charges a withdrawal fee amounting to 0.0006 BTC when you withdraw BTC. This is relatively higher than the industry average of 0.0004599 BTC.
BTCBox offers wire transfer as a deposit method, but you can’t deposit via credit card. This of course negative news to you if you would prefer to use your credit card for any reason.
