Robinhood Wallet integrates Arcus for eligible stock-token swaps, adding access to market-maker quotes as the exchange expands beyond 190 tokens.

Robinhood Wallet Taps Stock-Token Platform With $5B in Volume

TL;DR

  • Robinhood Wallet is integrating Arcus’ API as an additional route for stock-token spot swaps.

  • Access will be available to eligible users in supported jurisdictions.

  • Arcus now offers more than 190 stock tokens, up from over 90 at its July launch.

Robinhood Wallet is adding Arcus as another provider for routing stock-token trades, expanding the execution options available to eligible users.

Arcus said Thursday that its API integration will give the wallet access to its liquidity and execution infrastructure. It will operate alongside other routing providers rather than become the exclusive venue for stock-token swaps.

The announcement comes as Arcus expands its listed assets and reports growing trading activity since launching on Robinhood Chain in July.

Integration Adds Another Execution Route

The integration allows Robinhood Wallet to route eligible stock-token spot swaps through Arcus.

Users in supported jurisdictions will be able to access that infrastructure from the wallet, subject to the applicable eligibility requirements.

Adding a routing provider gives the wallet another source of execution when processing a swap. However, the announcement does not establish that every stock-token transaction will pass through Arcus.

That distinction also matters for rewards: access to the integration alone does not mean a user’s trade has been executed on Arcus or qualifies for its points program.

The supplied statement does not identify every supported jurisdiction or detail the criteria used to select between routing providers.

Built by the team behind dYdX, Arcus launched on Robinhood Chain in July with more than 90 stock tokens.

Its offering has since expanded to more than 190, according to the company. The larger selection gives traders access to a broader range of tokenized stock markets through its infrastructure.

Arcus also offers perpetual markets, although those remain in beta.

The Robinhood Wallet integration described in the announcement concerns stock-token spot swaps. It does not establish that the wallet is adding access to Arcus’ beta perpetual markets through the same routing arrangement.

Spot swaps and perpetual contracts are separate products, and the announcement treats them as different parts of Arcus’ offering.

Market Makers Compete to Quote Each Swap

Arcus uses a request-for-quote model rather than relying on a single liquidity pool.

Under that structure, professional market makers compete to provide a price for an individual swap. The model sources executable quotes from trading firms instead of determining execution solely through assets held in a pool.

The company presents this infrastructure as part of the service Robinhood Wallet can access through the API.

Actual execution will depend on the quotes available for a particular transaction. The supplied announcement does not provide comparative figures for spreads, slippage or execution quality against other routing options.

Robinhood Wallet users whose swaps execute through Arcus may qualify for Arcus Points, the company said.

The wording leaves eligibility conditional. The announcement does not disclose the full qualification rules, how points are calculated or what benefits they may provide.

Arcus also plans to make limit orders available to Robinhood Wallet users through the wallet’s decentralized application browser.

That provides a separate way to interact with Arcus, allowing users to specify a price for an order rather than accept an immediately available swap quote.

Arcus Reports $5 Billion in Trading Volume

Arcus says it has processed more than $5 billion in cumulative trading volume since launch, with over 15,000 unique traders.

Its total value locked exceeds $28 million, according to the statement. These are company-reported figures and measure different aspects of activity: cumulative turnover, participating traders, and assets held within the platform.

CEO Eddie Zhang said the early traction supports Arcus’ view that traders want accessible, continuously available markets.

The Robinhood Wallet integration provides another distribution channel for that offering, while user access remains dependent on jurisdiction, eligibility, and whether a swap is routed through Arcus.
