Robinhood launches zero-fee crypto trading in the UK, offering over 50 assets, AI-powered market insights, and access through Bitstamp.

Robinhood Launches Zero-Fee Crypto Trading in the UK

TL;DR

  • Robinhood is introducing zero-fee cryptocurrency trading for eligible UK customers.

  • Users will have access to more than 50 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Hyperliquid.

  • Crypto services will be provided through Bitstamp, which Robinhood acquired in 2025.

Robinhood is introducing zero-fee cryptocurrency trading in the United Kingdom as part of its push to become an all-in-one investment platform in the country.

The expanded Robinhood app will allow eligible UK customers to trade crypto alongside stocks and shares ISAs, equities, options, and futures.

The service will begin rolling out to eligible customers this week, according to the company.

UK Customers Gain Access to More Than 50 Cryptocurrencies

Robinhood’s UK crypto offering will initially provide access to over 50 digital assets.

Supported cryptocurrencies will include major tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Hyperliquid. Robinhood will deliver the service through Bitstamp, the cryptocurrency exchange it acquired for $200 million in 2025.

The acquisition gave Robinhood access to Bitstamp’s global licenses, institutional infrastructure, and established crypto trading operations.

Integrating Bitstamp into the Robinhood app allows the company to expand its UK cryptocurrency services while combining them with its existing range of traditional investment products.

Robinhood is positioning its new product as an alternative to UK cryptocurrency platforms that use complex fee structures and wide trading spreads.

“Our new product provides a transparent, low-cost alternative to many incumbent U.K. platforms, which often rely on opaque pricing structures and apply wide spreads that can erode customers’ returns,” the company said.

While Robinhood describes the service as zero-fee trading, users should still consider spreads—the difference between an asset’s buying and selling prices—when evaluating the total cost of a trade.

Cortex Digests Brings AI Analysis to Crypto Trading

Robinhood is also launching Cortex Digests for Crypto, a generative AI-powered market analysis widget.

The service evaluates several sources of information, including:

  • Breaking news

  • Market data

  • Technical indicators

  • Robinhood’s proprietary insights

Cortex Digests then explains in plain English the main factors affecting the price of an individual cryptocurrency.

The feature is designed to help investors understand market movements without requiring them to manually review multiple news sources, charts, or technical indicators.

Robinhood did not specify which customers would initially receive access to the AI tool or whether it would be available for every supported cryptocurrency.

UK Developers Can Build on Robinhood Chain

The launch also extends Robinhood’s wider cryptocurrency ecosystem to the UK developer community.

UK developers will be able to create applications using Robinhood Chain, the company’s Layer 2 blockchain built on Arbitrum technology.

Robinhood Chain is intended to support blockchain-based financial products while benefiting from Ethereum’s security and Arbitrum’s lower costs and faster transaction processing.

Opening the network to UK developers could support the creation of new trading, investing, and tokenized-asset applications within Robinhood’s ecosystem.

Robinhood UK President Jordan Sinclair said a growing number of British investors now view digital assets as an important component of a diversified investment portfolio.

“We’re taking another major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK,” Sinclair said.

By combining crypto, stocks, tax-efficient investment accounts, options, and futures within one app, Robinhood is seeking to attract customers who want access to traditional and digital markets through a single platform.

The UK rollout represents another step in Robinhood’s international expansion and broader cryptocurrency strategy.

Its acquisition of Bitstamp provides much of the infrastructure needed to offer regulated crypto services across multiple jurisdictions, while Robinhood Chain gives the company a foundation for developing blockchain-based financial products.

With zero-fee crypto trading, AI-powered market analysis, and access to more than 50 assets, Robinhood is intensifying competition with established UK investment apps and cryptocurrency exchanges.
