Lombard Upgrades BTC.b to Chainlink CCT Standard

Chainlink announced via X on Thursday that Lombard, a leading BTCFi platform with $3B+ BTC onboarded, has acquired BTC.b and upgraded it to the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard.

This upgrade enables BTC.b users to move it natively across Avalanche, Ethereum, and Katana with Chainlink CCIP securing its cross-chain transactions. Lombard will also upgrade LBTC to the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, enabling users to transfer it natively across Berachain, Corn, Etherlink, & TAC.

CCTs support self-serve deployments, full control and ownership for developers, enhanced programmability, and zero-slippage transfers—all backed by CCIP’s defense-in-depth security.

Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is down 4.7% over the past 24 hours and is trading at $17.18 at press time.
