LayerZero Brings Overlayer’s Assets Beyond Ethereum to Other Chains

On Friday, the LayerZero team announced via X that its OFT Standard is bringing the Overlayer vision to multi-chain. The partnership expands Overlaid Assets beyond Ethereum and builds the interoperability layer for Overlayer's multi-chain future.

LayerZero’s OFT standard synchronizes token supply across networks through native debit/credit mechanics, without fragmenting the asset into isolated representations.

Users and protocols can obtain or integrate Overlaid Assets more smoothly across supported networks, unlocking more use cases and opportunities across the ecosystem.

A standalone deployment on an L2 would normally depend on that chain’s local liquidity, supply caps, and available yield capacity. With LayerZero, Overlayer can bring Ethereum’s deeper markets to L2s, without inheriting their local liquidity and scalability constraints.

LayerZero is an interoperability protocol designed to facilitate seamless communication between different blockchains. It aims to create a unified, interconnected blockchain ecosystem where assets and data can move freely across various networks.

LayerZero is an omnichain interoperability protocol designed for lightweight message passing across chains. LayerZero provides authentic and guaranteed message delivery with configurable trustlessness. It is a “blockchain of blockchains” that allows other blockchain networks to communicate directly and in a trustless manner.

LayerZero’s key feature is Ultra Light Nodes (ULNs). These smart contracts run on each blockchain and act as endpoints for cross-chain communication. ULNs verify the validity of transactions and messages from other chains using block headers and transaction proofs, ensuring security and efficiency.

ZRO trades at $1.02, down 5% in the last 24 hours. LayerZero supports any blockchain that can run smart contracts, such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Fantom, and other chains. LayerZero also supports non-EVM chains like Aptos. These so-called omnichain applications should become a key layer of a multi-chain future, where different blockchains interact simultaneously.

LayerZero aims to create the optimal interoperability solution for blockchains with seamless and trustless cross-chain transactions.
