Helium Experiences Issues With Its Seed Nodes

The Helium team announced that its developers were aware of an issue impacting Proof-of-Coverage Witnesses related to seed nodes.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the Helium team announced that its developers were aware of an issue impacting Proof-of-Coverage Witnesses related to seed nodes. A seed node is a special node that allows the incorporation of new nodes to the network and maintains the strength of the network.

It added that the core developers had added additional seed nodes to address the issue and continue to monitor Proof-of-Coverage activity. Helium later reported that Proof-of-Coverage activity was stabilizing, and the developers will continue to monitor the issue. 

Helium is a peer-to-peer wireless network that aims to provide a secure and cost-effective way for low-power Internet of Things (IoT) devices to interact with the internet. HNT, Helium’s native token, is trading at $43.56 at press time, up by more than 6% in the last 24 hours
