Galaxy Digital has launched an 8.99% APR crypto-backed credit line that lets eligible GalaxyOne clients borrow against BTC, ETH, and SOL without selling.

Galaxy Lets Crypto Investors Borrow Cash Without Selling Coins

TL;DR

  • Galaxy Digital has introduced a portfolio credit line that lets eligible GalaxyOne clients borrow against crypto without selling it.

  • Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and staked SOL can be combined as collateral under one revolving credit facility.

  • The product has an 8.99% annual percentage rate, no origination fee and instant funding in USD or USDC.

Galaxy Digital has launched a crypto-backed portfolio line of credit that allows eligible GalaxyOne customers to access cash without selling their digital assets.

The new product lets clients use several cryptocurrencies as collateral within a single revolving credit facility. Borrowers can receive funds for expenses or investments while retaining exposure to their crypto portfolios.

GalaxyOne Clients Can Borrow Against BTC, ETH, and SOL

Eligible GalaxyOne customers can borrow against Bitcoin, Ether and Solana holdings. Staked SOL can also be included as collateral, allowing investors to access liquidity without first unwinding their staking positions.

By combining eligible assets under one credit line, Galaxy aims to make crypto-backed borrowing more flexible than products that require separate loans for individual tokens.

The arrangement may also provide tax-efficient liquidity because users do not need to sell their assets to access cash. However, individual tax treatment will depend on the borrower’s circumstances and jurisdiction.

GalaxyOne’s crypto portfolio credit line carries an 8.99% annual percentage rate and does not charge an origination fee.

Approved borrowers can receive funds instantly in either US dollars or the USDC stablecoin. Galaxy also said collateral deposited under the product will not be rehypothecated, meaning the company will not reuse it for separate lending or investment activities.

The credit line is initially available to eligible customers in 40 US states.

Galaxy Targets Investors Seeking Liquidity Without Selling Crypto

The product is intended for investors who want to remain exposed to digital assets while avoiding the process and potential tax implications of selling them.

Zac Prince, managing director of GalaxyOne, said the company is using Galaxy’s institutional infrastructure to offer retail customers competitive borrowing rates, security and flexibility.

The launch also expands Galaxy’s growing range of retail financial products as the company seeks to connect cryptocurrency investing with more conventional wealth-management services.

GalaxyOne enters a market that already includes several established crypto-backed lending providers.

Ledn offers loans backed by Bitcoin, with borrowers able to receive funds in USD, USDC and other currencies. Coinbase also allows eligible customers to borrow against cryptocurrency without selling and advertises rates starting as low as 5%.

Nexo’s credit-line product supports multiple collateral assets, including Bitcoin and Ether, which users can combine when borrowing.

Terms, collateral requirements and liquidation risks vary across providers, making interest rates only one factor borrowers must consider when comparing these products.

Galaxy Expands Retail and Institutional Lending Services

The portfolio credit line follows Galaxy’s earlier launch of GOFR, a managed crypto lending program introduced this year for institutions, accredited investors and high-net-worth individuals.

GOFR combines lending rates from decentralized finance platforms such as Aave and Morpho to offer managed borrowing opportunities.

Galaxy launched GalaxyOne in October 2025 as a unified application for cryptocurrency and stock trading. The platform is available across all US states, although the new credit facility is initially limited to 40 states.
