On Sunday, the Filecoin Foundation announced via X that it has partnered with Blockfrost to add Filecoin as a backup layer for Cardano apps. Blockfrost is an all-in-one API for Cardano and IPFS.

Blockfrost archives its IPFS gateway clusters on Filecoin and adds a service tier with IPFS + Filecoin storage. 

Filecoin is a decentralized storage network that serves as an incentivization layer on top of the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). FIL is down 6.6% in the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $2.501.
