Chainlink Links 600+ Banks to Blockchain Payments via Bottomline

Chainlink announced on Thursday via X that top-three Swift service provider, Bottomline, has entered a strategic partnership with Chainlink to unlock cross-chain, cross-border payments for its 600+ bank customers.

Bottomline moves more than $16 trillion in payments annually across its platforms.

Through the partnership, Chainlink is providing the secure interoperability and orchestration layer connecting Bottomline’s existing payment infrastructure to public and private blockchains.

TradFi is moving onchain at a rapidly accelerating pace, and CCIP is enabling tokenized value to move securely across chains, with the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) coordinating payment workflows end-to-end.

The result is that Bottomline’s banks can continue using familiar ISO 20022 messaging to access onchain payment rails through a single, network-agnostic connection.

Chainlink is powered by the LINK token, which is used to pay for platform services and secure the network’s proper functioning. Chainlink leverages a novel fee model where offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted to LINK tokens and stored in a strategic Chainlink Reserve.

Chainlink is at the forefront of financial innovation and the global tokenization trend. Traditional financial institutions and infrastructure, such as SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear, J.P. Morgan, Mastercard, the Central Bank of Brazil, UBS, SBI, Fidelity International, ANZ, and many others, are adopting Chainlink as a fundamental infrastructure as they move toward tokenizing trillions onchain. Demand for Chainlink has already generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue across a variety of traditional and decentralized use cases.

Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is up 6.4% over the past 24 hours, trading at $11.89.
