Ark Invest Increases Exposure to Crypto-related Stocks

Cathie Wood's Ark Invest added to its positions in several leading cryptocurrency-related companies on Thursday, purchasing shares of Coinbase, Circle, Bullish, and Robinhood across multiple exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

According to the firm's latest daily trading disclosure, Ark acquired 9,014 shares of Coinbase through its ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF). Based on Thursday's closing price, the purchase was valued at approximately $1.28 million.

The investment firm also bought 9,264 shares of Circle, worth about $637,455, and 9,136 shares of crypto exchange operator Bullish, valued at roughly $199,895.

In addition, Ark purchased 35,023 shares of Robinhood through ARKK, representing an investment of approximately $3.27 million.

Ark Invest increased its holdings as all four stocks ended Thursday's trading session lower.

Coinbase shares fell 5% to close at $142.52, while Circle declined 3% to $68.81. Robinhood lost 3.85% to finish at $93.47, and Bullish posted the largest decline among the group, dropping 6.77% to $21.88.

The purchases reflect Ark's strategy of adding to long-term positions during periods of market weakness.

Ark Invest actively manages the weightings of companies across its exchange-traded funds to maintain portfolio diversification.

Under the firm's investment guidelines, no individual holding is generally allowed to exceed 10% of an ETF's total portfolio. As stock prices fluctuate, Ark routinely buys or sells shares to rebalance its funds and maintain target allocations.

This approach often leads the firm to accumulate shares after price declines and trim positions following significant rallies.

Cathie Wood Expects Inflation to Continue Easing

Alongside the portfolio adjustments, Ark Invest CEO and Chief Investment Officer Cathie Wood shared her latest views on the U.S. economic outlook.

Posting on social media platform X during a recent investment roadshow across Asia and Europe, Wood said many investors remain concerned about persistent inflation. However, she argued that inflationary pressures are likely to weaken significantly, driven in part by improving productivity.

Wood pointed to unit labor costs, which she said had slowed to an annual increase of just 0.5%, as evidence that inflation is already moderating.

Wood also expressed confidence in Kevin Warsh's understanding of inflation dynamics and monetary policy.

She argued that productivity gains are playing an important disinflationary role and suggested that traditional government inflation measures may not fully capture those effects.

While many market participants have recently shifted toward expectations of higher interest rates, Wood said she believes Warsh would provide financial markets with a more nuanced approach to monetary policy if given a larger role in shaping economic policy.
