On Tuesday, Sonic Labs (formerly Fantom Foundation) announced via X that native USDC and CCTP V2 are now available on Sonic following a Bridged USDC Standard upgrade.
Natively issued USDC enhances liquidity, security, and capital efficiency for developers and users across the Sonic ecosystem. Native USDC is regulated, fully reserved, and redeemable 1:1 for US Dollars with Circle Mint, providing a trusted and scalable foundation for trading, payments, and financial services.
Meanwhile, CCTP V2 enables near-instant USDC transfers across supported blockchains and can automate post-transfer actions via Hooks.
Sonic (previously Fantom) is building a programmable platform on a directed acyclic graph-based distributed ledger. Its S coin is up 6% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.5987.
