On Thursday, the Solana team announced via X that Galaxy, the Nasdaq-listed firm, with over $7B in assets under management and stake, is now curating two lending vaults on Kamino, one in USDC and one in USDT.
The Galaxy USDC Vault is also accessible through Kamino's integration with Yield.xyz, a Web3 yield infrastructure platform that provides access to a range of platforms, extending Galaxy's distribution beyond Kamino's direct user base.
The expansion builds on Galaxy Curation's initial launch in July of this year, which brought institutional vault curation to onchain markets with native distribution through Fireblocks Earn.
Galaxy Curation on Kamino launches with two vault configurations, both built on Kamino’s architecture and each drawing on Galaxy's institutional risk framework.
-
Galaxy USDT Vault: a moderate-risk vault strategy designed to preserve capital through selective market exposure and disciplined allocation across Kamino's most liquid and battle-tested lending venues.
-
Galaxy USDC Vault: a moderate-risk vault strategy designed to generate higher yield through expanded collateral exposure and broader market participation.
Solana is an integrated, open-source blockchain that synchronizes global information at the speed of light. The network is focused on fast transactions and high throughput to encourage mass consumer adoption of blockchain technology.
Solana is a highly functional open-source project that banks on blockchain technology’s permissionless nature to provide decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. While the idea and initial work on the project began in 2017, Solana was officially launched in March 2020 by the Solana Foundation with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Solana protocol is designed to facilitate decentralized app (DApp) creation. It aims to improve scalability by introducing a proof-of-history (PoH) consensus combined with the underlying proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus of the blockchain.
Because of the innovative hybrid consensus model, Solana enjoys interest from small-time traders and institutional traders alike. A significant focus for the Solana Foundation is to make decentralized finance accessible on a larger scale.
SOL is up 4.8% in the last 24 hours and trades at $104.65.
