On Tuesday, the ZKsync team announced via X that the ZKsync Gateway is live. ZKsync Gateway is a middleware component that enables cross-chain messaging and proof aggregation across ZKsync Chains. This component lays the foundation for fast interoperability across the Elastic Network.
The ZKsync Gateway combines proofs from ZKsync Chains into a single proof that can verify the entire Elastic Network on Ethereum L1, dramatically reducing settlement costs.
The team added that Gateway has already shipped alongside the v28 upgrade. Soon, ZKsync Era and other ZKsync Chains will migrate on top of it.
ZKsync is a Layer-2 scaling solution that makes transactions on Ethereum cheaper and faster by utilizing zero-knowledge rollups (zk-rollups) and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs). ZK is up 4% and is currently trading at $0.0577.
