World Launches Financial Super App in 150+ Countries

TL;DR

  • World is launching its World Money financial app in more than 150 countries.

  • The self-custodial platform combines stablecoin payments, trading, rewards and virtual accounts.

  • Integrations with Stripe, Kalshi and Morpho expand its funding, prediction-market and earning features.

  • Users can hold balances in eight currencies and transfer digital assets internationally.

World Expands Into Digital Financial Services

World, the identity-focused cryptocurrency project previously known as Worldcoin, is launching a self-custodial financial application in more than 150 countries.

Called World Money, the app combines stablecoin payments, digital-asset trading, yield opportunities, and virtual accounts in a single platform. It supports balances denominated in eight currencies and enables users to send assets internationally.

Because the service is self-custodial, users retain control of their assets instead of relying on World to hold their funds.

The rollout represents another step in World’s effort to transform its existing application into a broader financial “super app.”

World Money connects with Stripe to provide a new funding option for users in the United States.

The integration allows eligible customers to convert money from Apple Pay into stablecoins, with transactions typically completed within minutes. This could simplify stablecoin onboarding by removing the need to transfer funds through a conventional cryptocurrency exchange.

Features and supported assets will differ across jurisdictions, reflecting local regulations and product availability.

Kalshi and Morpho Integrations Expand App Features

The app also integrates with prediction-market platform Kalshi and decentralized lending protocol Morpho.

Although World has not detailed every function available through the partnerships, the integrations broaden the platform beyond basic payments. Kalshi provides access to event-based markets, while Morpho supports decentralized lending and yield opportunities.

World ID verification will be incorporated throughout the application. Verified users can qualify for higher rewards through eligible Earn programs, subject to local availability and applicable conditions.

World said its human-verification network is intended to add trust to financial transactions as artificial intelligence makes automated and fraudulent accounts easier to create.

The project argues that linking accounts to verified individuals can make digital transactions more reliable without requiring users to surrender control of their assets.

World operates under Tools for Humanity, a technology company co-founded by Alex Blania and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

World Continues Its Super-App Push

The company began expanding its app’s functionality in March 2025 by introducing cryptocurrency payments and chat. Those features allowed users to send and receive digital assets directly through conversations.

Circle subsequently launched native USDC on the World network, replacing the bridged version of the stablecoin previously used in World App wallets.

World Money builds on those additions by bringing payments, trading, earning, and identity verification into one self-custodial financial platform.
