The WAX team announced on Twitter yesterday that it has introduced a small fee for users that wish to create new blockchain accounts.

The WAX team announced on Twitter yesterday that it has introduced a small fee for users that wish to create new blockchain accounts. The fee was added following the latest WAX Cloud Wallet upgrade. However, accounts created via Facebook are not affected by this fee and can be created at no cost.

WAX is a layer-1 network that aims to build an ecosystem for dApps, NFT collectibles and emerging play-to-earn games. The WAX protocol is a decentralized blockchain solution that powers the WAX marketplace and focuses on the transfer and exchange of virtual goods and services.

WAXP, the native token of the WAX blockchain, is down by more than 1% in the last 24 hours and is trading at $0.33 at press time.
