Strive added 469 Bitcoin for $36.6 million, lifting its treasury to 25,000 BTC as the company targets a higher position among corporate holders.

Strive Hits 25,000 BTC, Now Fifth-Largest Corporate Holder

TL;DR

  • Strive purchased 469 BTC for $36.6 million at an average price just below $78,000.

  • The acquisition increased its total treasury to 25,000 BTC, worth roughly $1.95 billion.

  • The company needs another 18,515 BTC to overtake Twenty One as the second-largest public Bitcoin holder.

Strive purchased another 469 Bitcoin last week, increasing its total holdings to exactly 25,000 BTC. The treasury is worth approximately $1.95 billion based on Bitcoin’s current price.

According to a Form 8-K filed on Monday, Strive spent $36.6 million on the acquisition at an average price slightly below $78,000 per Bitcoin.

The purchase consolidates Strive’s position as the world’s fifth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, behind Strategy, Twenty One, Metaplanet and MARA.

SATA Sales Fund Latest Bitcoin Purchase

Strive CEO Matt Cole said the company raised all its capital during the week from sales of SATA, its perpetual preferred stock.

SATA recently surpassed $1 billion in outstanding notional value, giving Strive another source of funding for its Bitcoin accumulation strategy. The company did not rely on sales of common stock to finance its latest purchase.

Strive’s amplification ratio also rose to 53.5%. The company defines this metric as the ratio of outstanding preferred equity and debt to the net asset value of its Bitcoin holdings.

In practical terms, Strive now has approximately $53.50 in preferred stock obligations and debt for every $100 worth of Bitcoin in its treasury.

Weekly Bitcoin Purchases Slow

Strive’s latest acquisition was substantially smaller than its purchase during the previous week, when the company added 1,375 BTC for approximately $109 million.

Despite the slowdown, Strive remains one of the most aggressive corporate Bitcoin buyers. Cole has said the company could potentially become the world’s second-largest public holder by the end of 2026, although he acknowledged that this is not his base-case forecast.

Twenty One currently occupies second place with 43,514 BTC. Assuming the Tether-backed company does not increase its holdings, Strive would need to acquire another 18,515 BTC to overtake it.

With 15 full weeks remaining in 2026, Strive would have to buy an average of approximately 1,234 BTC per week to close the gap.

Strive’s common stock, which trades under the ASST ticker, gained more than 4% during the opening hours of Monday’s session. The stock briefly climbed to a year-to-date high just below $29.

The advance followed a volatile period for Bitcoin. BTC traded near $78,000 on Monday after surging from approximately $76,000 to almost $80,000 on Friday before quickly retreating toward $77,000.

Weekend trading was relatively subdued following the sharp intraday swings.

Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Purchases Again

Strategy, the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder, left its treasury unchanged at 845,050 BTC for a second consecutive week.

Instead of acquiring additional Bitcoin, the company spent $139.3 million repurchasing STRC preferred shares. Strategy financed the buyback with funds from its US dollar cash reserves.

The contrasting moves show that while Strive continues expanding its Bitcoin position, Strategy is temporarily directing capital toward managing its preferred-stock structure.
