Gen.G is one of the leading Esports organizations, which is reflected in its new partnership with Korean virtual asset exchange platform Bithumb. The partnership will allow both companies to work on various strategic collaborations, which will include the promotion of joint marketing activities, as well as providing innovative and creative experiences that bridge the gap between the fast-moving esports space and the rapidly-growing cryptocurrency industry.

An Exciting Time For Crypto And Gaming

The deal will see Bithumb feating on the Gen.G PUBG and Overwatch teams, with the sponsor displayed on the team jerseys for arena tournaments and across the Gen.G channels. With major companies like Microsoft and Facebook positioning themselves to be the leadings of the metaverse industry, there couldn’t be a better time for crypto and gaming. The relationship between game development and creating metaverses is clear-cut. This has already been evidenced, as metaverse virtual worlds are largely just replicas worlds of games; the likes of GTA, Sims, and Second Life. 

NFTs are already making their mark in the gaming world, with a variety of ongoing projects developing NFT GameFi and pay-to-purchase items for games, as well as a whole host of games with native blockchain currencies.
