Web3 gaming superapp GAM3S.GG announced on Friday, March 22nd, that it has raised $2 million in an investment round. In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the team also unveiled plans to launch its native $G3 token to drive web3 gaming adoption and aid in their mission to onboard the next 100M gamers onto web3.
The funding round saw participation from VCs including Merit Circle, WWVentures, Cogitent Ventures, P2 Ventures, Cypher Capital, Acheron, Basics Capital, OIG Capital, BreederDAO, and Hercules Ventures. Other notable angels include Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon, Sky Mavis & Ronin co-founder Jiho Zirlin, and LiquidX co-founder Giulio Xiloyannis, among others.
After this funding round, GAM3S.GG is now working to launch its native $G3 token. A token generation event, scheduled for early next month, will see the $G3 token issued to a global audience of web3 gamers through a public sale and an airdrop event to reward the early users over the past 1.5 years.
The team added that the $G3 token is set to unlock exclusive platform features, game rewards, and the opportunity to participate in upcoming token launches for games. At the moment, GAM3S.GG has more than 300k registered gamers creating content to spotlight the top web3 games.
The GAM3S.GG superapp helps remove onboarding friction, enabling users to interact with their favorite blockchain-powered games in unprecedented ways by simplifying the user experience, providing early access opportunities, as well as creating a plethora of guides and unbiased reviews.
The platform currently houses over 350 games, with more than 80 of them directly playable on the browser through the platform. GAM3S.GG’s quest system has recently seen over 1M missions completed, engaging more than 75,000 unique participants across 78 quests launched alongside some of the biggest blockchain gaming titles including Shrapnel, Big Time, Axie Infinity, MetalCore and Illuvium.
