Canadian blockchain firm SOL Strategies is teaming up with Australian investment company DigitalX in a deal that opens institutional Solana staking through BitGo's custody platform. The announcement came on May 12th and reveals how the pair is turning idle crypto into a real money-maker by merging SOL Strategies' validator expertise with BitGo's bank-grade security systems.
As part of the agreement, DigitalX, an ASX-listed company specializing in blockchain investments, will stake its Solana holdings through SOL Strategies' validator infrastructure. This selection reinforces SOL Strategies' reputation for maintaining consistent uptime and robust security protocols essential for institutional clients.
"We're thrilled to welcome DigitalX to our growing roster of institutional clients," said Leah Wald, CEO of SOL Strategies. "Their decision to stake with us validates the strength, security, and performance of our infrastructure built for sophisticated market participants."
Validator Acquisitions and On-Chain Equity Exploration Signal Market Expansion
SOL Strategies has significantly expanded its institutional footprint in recent months. On March 17, the company acquired three Solana validators, including Laine and analytics platform Stakewiz.com, consolidating its market position. By May 5, the company deployed $20 million from its $500 million convertible note facility to purchase 122,524 SOL at approximately $148.96 per token.
In a potentially groundbreaking move announced May 7, SOL Strategies signed a non-binding MOU with blockchain firm Superstate to explore tokenizing its shares via the "Opening Bell" platform. This SEC-compliant infrastructure could make SOL Strategies among the first public companies with tokenized regulated equity on Solana, enabling real-time settlement and global investment access.
The partnership with DigitalX and BitGo positions SOL Strategies as a premier institutional validator offering secure, compliant Solana staking solutions. With a validator footprint now exceeding 3.3 million SOL across four nodes, the company is accelerating institutional adoption by providing competitive yields unavailable through conventional investment vehicles.
